A security guards/inspector/officer is a person employed by a government or private party to protect the employing party’s assets (property, people, equipment, money, etc.) from a variety of hazards (such as waste, damaged property, unsafe worker behavior, etc.) by enforcing preventative measures.
Our security guards at XpressGuards do this by maintaining a high-visibility presence to deter illegal and inappropriate actions, looking (either directly, through patrols, or indirectly, by monitoring alarm systems or video surveillance cameras) for signs of crime or other hazards (such as a fire), taking action to minimize damage (such as warning and escorting trespassers off property), and reporting any incidents to our clients and emergency services (such as the police or paramedics), as appropriate.
Certified Security Guards
Our security officers wear uniforms to show their role of protecting private property. Security guards are generally governed by legal regulations which outlines the requirements for eligibility, and the local authorities in a given jurisdiction.
The authorities responsible for security are different in different countries and sub-jurisdictions. our security officers are employed for a variety of different organisations, including private businesses, public agencies and charities (e.g., churches and charitable organizations).
Until the 1980s, the function of watchman was more commonly referred to as a ‘police officer’, a usage dating back to at least the Middle Ages (other than it being a private matter). This term was carried over from Europe, where it was synonymous with night watchman. It was replaced with the modern security-based titles in the United States and North America.
Security guards are very common now throughout the world to help protect your home and business. If you’re thinking about hiring a security guard, contact XPressGuards now to request more information.
