Unarmed Security Services –
The level of training required to become a security guard depends on the state you live in. All security guards must have the training and pass the examination to obtain their license to work as security guards. However, not all of them have the same training.
Unarmed security guards in some states are required to be trained in first aid and CPR. The security guard course may include other training depending on the state. If you’re interested in becoming a security guard, you’ll need to pass the above-mentioned training. Some states will only require first aid training and you might already have this qualification if you had first aid in school.
In order to become a security guard, you must complete 16-40 hours of training, depending on the state requirements. Security guards are also trained in things like report writing, patrolling, security tactics, as well as the use of weapons. Security guards who carry weapons must have prior firearms training where they learn how to properly use weapons as well as when to use them.
Security Guards Have Emergency and Disaster Training
Security guards are also taught about emergency procedures. In cases of emergency such as fire outbreaks, security guards must know what steps to take and to follow safety protocols in providing emergency response.
You can attend security guard training at some security companies or special schools. Security training providers are often listed by your state of residence. If security guards want to receive certification, they must apply for one at the International Foundation for Protection Officers.
